Self-host Codemagic Patch for free while you stay at or below 1,000,000 Monthly Active Users (unique devices that request an update in a calendar month). Above that, you need a commercial license from Codemagic.

The React Native SDK and CLI are Apache 2.0. You can use them in your apps either way.

Commercial rates​

Above 1M MAU, pricing is per million users per year. Bands stack: each slice of MAU is billed at that band's rate.

Example: 120 million MAU is $97,000/year (50 × $990 + 50 × $750 + 20 × $500).

Commercial licenses include a dedicated Slack channel with Codemagic for support.

Codemagic can also host Patch for your company on request, for an additional cost.

License basics​

The server uses the Codemagic Server License (source-available; each version becomes Apache 2.0 after two years). In practice:

  • Use it for your own apps, including production and commercial products
  • Do not offer Patch (or something substantially similar) as a competing hosted product or service
  • Full text and per-directory licenses live in the repo; see also LICENSING.md
